4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI content generation), Vercel (hosting), and Google Analytics (anonymized usage analytics — see Section 8). These providers access your data only as needed to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in the United States using Supabase (built on PostgreSQL and hosted on AWS). We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Row-level security policies on database tables
- Secure authentication with hashed passwords
- Regular security monitoring and updates
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and generated content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or financial record-keeping).
Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

8. Cookies and Analytics
We use the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4): We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how visitors find and use TeachArgument so we can improve the product and our marketing. GA4 collects pageviews, approximate location at the country/region/city level (derived from IP address, then anonymized — we do not store full IP addresses), device and browser type, referring URL, and certain product events such as account signups, subscription purchases, sample-bundle requests, and lesson-bundle generations. We do not collect or share names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information through GA4.
Consent and opt-out. We use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics tracking is disabled by default until you accept it via the cookie consent banner shown on your first visit. You can opt out at any time by:
- Declining the consent banner the first time you visit the Service
- Clearing your browser's site data for app.teachargument.com (this re-shows the banner so you can change your choice)
- Installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from Google
- Enabling your browser's tracking-prevention or “Do Not Track” settings
Google's use of any data collected through GA4 is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not use advertising cookies, do not run remarketing or retargeting campaigns, and do not sell cookie or analytics data to third parties. You can also manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
9. Children's Privacy
TeachArgument is designed for use by educators, not students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@teachargument.com.
Educators are responsible for ensuring that any student data shared with or through the Service complies with applicable laws, including FERPA and COPPA.
